Detoxing has once again become en vogue and there are many ways to go about it. Juicing, fasting, liquid, vegan – they all have their benefits, but one is not better than another. If you’re considering detoxing, invest in professional support to ensure you choose the method that best supports your lifestyle and detoxing goals.

We’ll first briefly focus on juicing. Juicing is a gentle method of detoxing for a body that wants maximum nutrition and convenience. This method works well because it removes the fiber from fruits/vegetables, making it extremely easy for your digestive system to absorb a ton of nutrients. If your digestive system doesn’t have to spend energy digesting food, it can divert energy elsewhere. Many people report feeling a surge in mental and emotional energy after the third day.

When juicing, you are flooding your system with an abnormal amount of vitamins and nutrients. You will consume several pounds of vegetables in a juicing regimen per day – way more than you could ever chew! This also contributes to the increase in energy you can experience in a juicing program.

An exclusively liquid diet is quite an adjustment, so be physically and mentally prepared. You may feel slight weakness or hunger during a program, but adding nut milks can provide a valuable protein boost. Also try adding coconut milk into juices or smoothies. The fat helps you feel full and satiated. The creamy texture of the coconut milk can also soothe your nerves after a stressful day.

The idea of drinking raw vegetables is quite foreign to most of us and the taste for these concoctions can be jolting. In fact, you would be pleasantly surprised to find that drinking a green liquid tastes nothing like it looks or smells. Most juices are a combination of fruits and vegetables. Apples, pineapples, pears and dates can sweeten and mask any scary veggie flavors.

Because your body is pushing out toxins, you may experience withdrawal symptoms like headaches. If you can, push through with extra water and continue the program. You can lose weight on a juicing program and your skin will most likely begin glowing after about day three. This makes juicing great for special events like school reunions, weddings, or red carpet appearances.
